Fox News Channel has added comedian Adam Carolla to its roster, as the funnyman will apparently become a contributor on the network's top-rated program, The O'Reilly Factor.
Carolla is expected to appear regularly, in a weekly recurring spot similar to what Dennis Miller does. Miller appears on Wednesdays to discuss political and social issues. I'd rather see Bill Maher as a weekly guest, but I guess that would be interesting and disrupt the Conservative rhetoric.
He is scheduled to debut this coming Monday. I had heard he was a Conservative before, so I guess this news is not really surprising, but it seems like given the closeness to the election this could have waited a few weeks. This election is really nasty and if I were a celebrity, I would try to avoid upsetting my fan base.
It is believed that he will appear on more than just The O'Reilly Factor. The network itself is not saying much.
Carolla will be maintaining his podcast, which is the "most downloaded podcast" per the Guinness World Records book.
He has recently been touring the country with conservative talk-radio host Dennis Prager, with the duo discussing issues. I am sure they spend a lot of time admiring President Barack Obama, as well.
Does this news surprise you? Does it change how you feel towards Carolla at all?
