On the same week that it was revealed that she was no longer dating New York Jets starting (at least for the moment) quarterback Matt Sanchez, it was revealed that Eva Longoria had signed a first-look development deal with Universal Television.
Longoria, who rose to fame on Desperate Housewives where she played Gaby Solis for eight seasons, will be executive producing projects through her UnbeliEVAble Entertainment label under the deal. The agreement was announced today by NBC.
She is also executive producing NBC's matchmaking show Ready for Love, which will feature three bachelors trying to find their princesses. So it is The Bachelor times three.
"Having Eva Longoria on our team is a huge advantage for our Alternative program development as we have pleasantly discovered in implementing her ideas for Ready for Love, which is shaping up as a terrific and upbeat series," NBC Entertainment's President of Alternative and Late Night Programming, Paul Telegdy, said. "She is passionate, fully engaged and has keen instincts for putting together a winning formula for her shows that always bear her imprint."
NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke added that the new deal "is significant in continuing what has already been a productive relationship. She has exceptional energy, vision, a prestigious name and the creative knack for finding compelling new concepts for our growing studio."
There is no word on whether or not she will be appearing in front of the camera during any of the projects they come up with.
