It looks like the heat is on in "Beverly Hills Cop" tv news.
TV Rage had previously reported on Eddie Murphy's interest in transitioning his "Beverly Hills Cop" trilogy of films to the small screen, teaming with CBS. Now it appears Brandon T. Jackson has been cast in the series lead.
Jackson is perhaps best known for his role as Alpa Chino in the Ben Stiller comedy "Tropic Thunder," as well as Martin Lawrence's son in the sequel I didn't know existed, "Big Momma's House: Like Father, Like Son." He also has ties to his new television alter ego as a Detroit-kid whose career path lead him to Hollywood.
The CBS series will feature Jackson as Aaron Foley, police officer eager to make his mark in order to emerge from the shadow of his father's police legacy. Eddie Murphy's Axel is now Chief of Police back in Detroit, and will guest star in a few episodes of the series including the pilot. Murphy will also serve as executive producer on the series along with the writer of the pilot Shawn Ryan ("The Shield," "Last Resort"). No word on how many bananas will be inserted in tailpipes.
Man, writing this article sure made me thirsty. Might as well have some of thisi BOOTY SWEAT I got back in Da Nang!
