Jack Wagner is a soap opera star and a prominent celebrity golfer--and he'll be bringing both of his talents to a January guest-appearance on 'Castle.'
Wagner rose to fame from his role of Peter Burns, handsome and devious occupant of 'Melrose Place' back in the 1990s. Since 'Melrose' ended, Wagner has had roles on 'General Hospital' and 'The Bold and The Beautiful.' His avid golf habit (and hosting of an annual celebrity golf fundraiser for cancer) has apparently caught attention over at ABC, as Wagner has been brought in as a guest star in a role that seems pulled from the the headlines about Tiger Woods.
The upcoming 'Castle' episode is entitled "Significant Others" and features Wagner as a former professional golfer named Billy Piper who's career fell apart after a messy divorce scandal. Up to this point, the similarity with Woods is apparent (although Woods has continually tried to climb back atop the PGA, brave little soldier that he is) but from there, the episide takes a distinctly primetime turn: Billy Piper's ex-wife ends up dead, along with a prominent divorce attorney.
This role is the latest in a string of single-episode guest appearances Wagner has made on hit series over the past few seasons, including 'Monk' and 'Hot in Cleveland.'
'Castle' airs on ABC and TNT.
