In news that could actually get me to watch the anemic new Dick Wolf drama, Sarah Shahi has been signed to a role on NBC's "Chicago Fire."
The actress, who was recently dubbed by Maxim magazine as "TV's Sexiest Star" (with good reason), is set to heat up a few scenes on the NBC firefighting drama in a guest star role. Shahi will appear as Renee, a love interest for lucky firefighter Kelly Severeid (Taylor Kinney). Reportedly the actress is currently shooting and her episodes could air by the end of the year.
For two years, Shahi has been the star of USA Network's "Fairly Legal" series, where she has drawn plenty of eyes portraying legal mediator Kate Reed. She has also appeared in Showtime's "The L Word" and starred opposite "Homeland"'s Damian Lewis in the NBC serial mystery "Life". She is also set to appear on the big screen playing Sylvester Stallone's daughter in his upcoming reluctant hitman film "Bullet to the Head."
Wolf's "Chicago Fire" has received mixed reviews and solid ratings since debuting this fall, prompting NBC to pick up five more scripts of the series. Hopefully one of those features Shahi getting doused with a hose or something.
