Primetime Ratings, Wednesday, 10/31/12

Halloween night saw FOX win the demos, while CBS (as usual) drew more total viewers.

The first live performance episode of The X-Factor dropped big in the demos from its last Wednesday episode, going from a 3.5 to a 2.7. To be fair to the show, Halloween is almost always a low rated night of TV, with most people out celebrating the holiday instead of watching the tube.

This year's airing of It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown went up 17%. Lead out The Neighbors set a new series low unfortunately. Modern Family dropped 16%, but still had the best demos of the night. Suburgatory went down 11%, but continues to do pretty well. Nashville remained in the same subpar ratings bracket its been in most of the season however, and I really can't see it getting renewed drawing a 1.8 demo.

Over on the Eye, Survivor dropped 14%, while Criminal Minds and CSI dipped 6 and 4% respectively. The latter two crime procedurals still easily won the total viewer battle regardless. 30 Rock replaced the recently canceled Animal Practice this week, and sadly tied its numbers. Ouch. Guys With Kids also tied its own bad numbers from last week. Law & Order: SVU and Chicago Fire also each dropped 17%, drawing demos of 1.7 and 1.6. Wednesday and Thursday continue to be absolutely terrible nights for the NBC schedule. Arrow dropped another little bit in its fourth week, but continues to do well by CW standards. Fittingly, the only show to actually gain viewers from last week was Supernatural.
