WELP that's the first time I've ever tagged the word "nipples" on a TVRage article.
On Wednesday night, 'The X-Factor' began its first live episodes of the season. Khloe Kardashian and Mario Lopez are the co-hosts of the live broadcast, marking Kardashian's first experience with live television. She received a warm welcome from the audience... which may have had something to do with the effects of the chilly theatre.
As you can see, several viewers were able to ascertain the subtle fact that Kardashian neglected to wear a bra beneath her sheer purple top.
"May I say, Khloé, you’re looking very sexy… I think the air conditioning is on high tonight," quipped Simon Cowell, never one to shy away from a potential controversy.
After Thursday's Results broadcast, Kardashian was cool and collected when questioned about her revealing appearance. She hadn't worn the purple top to rehearsal, so stage assistants weren't given the opportunity to point out (tee hee) the problem.
So where were the clothes that Kardashian was supposed to sport on air? It was all the fault of that nasty Superstorm Sandy! Travel was delayed getting to LA from the East coast and her schedule and wardrobe apparently became jumbled as a result.
When questioned about her thoughts on the matter, Kardashian said "From my angle I thought maybe it was nipple-y, but from what I heard, it was entire areolas. That was what the production told me in my ear. They were like, ‘Your areolas are out." And really, if I had a nickel for every time I've heard that from a well-meaning stranger.... well, I'd have about fifteen cents, but that's neither here nor there.
As America tuned in and had their attention taken away from Britney Spears by Kardashian's chest, what was her hubby, Lamar Odom thinking? Well... he wasn't watching: he was busy on the court of the Staples Center as the Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Memphis Grizzlies.
"We talked about the show, but I just forgot that part,” Kardashian said. “Today [after watching the show] he texts me, ‘Um… make sure you’re not showing your nipples tonight."
What did Cowell have to say, in summation?
"I thought it was hilarious."
So do we, Lord Simon. So do we.
