A “True Blood” alum is headed to “Nashville.”
Daniel Buran will have a recurring role on the ABC freshman musical drama.
He will play Cy, the singer for a Bon Jovi-like rock band in the market for a new guitar player to enhance its sound.
Currently on the series guitarist Deacon (Charles Esten) is caught between Rayna Jaymes (Connie Britton) professionally and Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere) for business and pleasure, so running off and joining Cy’s band might be an easy alternative.
The 38 -year- old Buran appeared as werewolf packmaster Marcus Bozeman of Shreveport, Lousiana, on HBO’s “True Blood.” He has also appeared on “Dexter,” “CSI: NY,” “Southland” and “Criminal Minds.”
“Nashville” is exec produced by Dee Johnson, R.J. Cutler, Callie Khouri and Steve Buchanan. Khouri is also the creator. Music legend T Bone Burnett is the exec music producer, and Lionsgate, ABC Studios and Gaylord Entertainment produce the series.
Wyclef Jean was also recently announced for the series. He will play a music label chief in a recurring role.
The show, which airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on ABC, is currently awaiting word on its fate at ABC.
Buran is represented by Caliber Media, Leverage and Ginsburg Daniels.
