Glen Hansard is an Academy Award winning musician and a bona fide movie star of 'Once,' and now he'll be recording his latest tracks at the Luncheonette recording studio on NBC's 'Parenthood.'

The Luncheonette is run by Adam (played by Peter Krause) and Crosby (played by Dax Shepard) on the NBC hit series, and the characters may be more than a little threatened when Hansard comes to town, portraying himself. A musician of his calibre gets brought on to network television for one reason--to perform.
Hansard, a member of The Frames and The Swell Season, will be performing two separate songs in the episode entitled "Trouble in Candyland." The guest appearance is slated to air in December.
'Parenthood' is presently amidst its fourth season. The sleeper hit hasn't broken any ratings records but the ensemble cast has collected talent from a wide range of successful past shows, including 'Six Feet Under' and 'Coach.'
Having won an Oscar for the theme for the low-budget feature 'Once' entitled "Falling Slowly," the film captured the strapped-for-cash lifestyle of Irish buskers by shooting the entire feature on a smaller budget than most Hollywood films spend on snacks. Since the success of 'Once,' Hansard has worked successfully on Broadway and has toured with various rock and folk acts around the world.
'Parenthood' airs on NBC.
