The 40th annual American Music Awards are two short weeks away (the same day as the WWE's Survivor Series pay per view....obviously the AMA will get a .1 rating because of that). The broadcast, which will air live on ABC from Los Angeles' Nokia Theatre, has announced new performers.
No Doubt, Justin Bieber, Ke$ha and Usher will be performing on the show, joining already announced as acts performing are Taylor Swift (no doubt signing hateful music towards a random ex), Pink, Christina Aguilera, Nicki Minaj, Carrie Underwood, Linkin Park and Pitbull. That's a pretty diverse mix there, don't you think?
More artists are scheduled to be announced soon.
(rant) I have never been a big fan of musical award shows, as I don't really understand the voting criteria. I can watch the Oscars and understand why film X beats film Y, but with music it seems so much more open to personal interpretation and feeling. It is the same reason I hate music reviews - some artists seem criticized for doing what has brought them success while others are praised for recycling the same old materials. I just don't get it. (End rant)
Rihanna and Minaj received the most nominations for this year's awards, with each earning four nominations.
