Fans of 'Ben and Kate' are well aware that Lucy Punch's character BJ, title character Kate's best friend, has a habit of stealing the show. BJ is outgoing, sexy, fun-loving... and soon we get to see where she gets her family traits: Jane Seymour has been cast in an upcoming guest appearance as BJ's mother, Wendy.
It seems that BJ may not be so fun-loving once mother Wendy comes to town; Wendy is described as being a pretentious Brit who is none too pleased when she discovers that her daughter has been keeping secrets from her.
Seymour is a multi-time Golden Globe winner for her work in both television ('Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman') and feature films ('East of Eden'). In 2000 she received the Order of the British Empire, so she should have plenty of inspiration to draw upon for playing a pretentious Brit. The sixty-one year old actress has always been praised for her beauty as well as her talent, appearing in 'Wedding Crashers' as a sultry sexpot in 2005.
Lucy Punch is known for her roles in 'Bad Teacher' and 'You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger' prior to her recurring role on the popular FOX series. She will welcome Seymour to 'Ben and Kate' in early 2013.
'Ben and Kate' airs on Tuesdays at 8:30pm EST on FOX.
