Patricia Arquette rubbing elbows with Munch and the gang on "Law & Order"? No, unfortunately, there is no "Law & Order: Ghost Division" spin-off in the works (…yet). For now, viewers will have to make do with Arquette and fellow guest-star Anne Meara playing roles that fit the "SVU" canon.
Both actresses are set to appear in an episode entitled "Dreams Deferred," which will find a dangerous man going on a killing spree. Arquette's character, a prostitute whom the murderer frequents, is the last person to go missing when the SVU enters the hunt to track him down. Meara will play Jeannie's mother, Irene, who is understandably a mess with her daughter missing and presumed dead.
The episode seems to be stacking the deck with guest stars, with the two actresses joining Jason Gedrick ("Boomtown," "Desperate Housewives") and PJ Brown ("Rounders," "Cop Land").
Arquette is perhaps best known for her long-running stint on the NBC-then-CBS supernatural series "Medium," as well as film roles in David Lynch's "Lost Highway" and the Quentin Tarantino-penned "True Romance." Meara, meanwhile, is a comedic legend, most famously known for her comedy duo with husband Jerry Stiller. She is also mother of some guy named Ben Stiller who I'm told is an actor of some sort.
The episode is set to air later this month as part of November sweeps. In the meantime, definitely check out Arquette's powerhouse performance in "True Romance" -- go! Do it!
