To build anticipation to its new season, “Portlandia” will air a sort-of holiday special, and has released a short.

The third season of the Independent Film Channel show starring Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein starts Jan. 4 with two episodes. The season will have 10 episodes, and continue to run Friday nights.
“Winter in Portlandia” will premiere Dec. 14 at 10:30 p.m.
This clip, called “Meditation Crush,” sees Fred and Carrie eyeing each other during a yoga class with varying inner monologues; Carrie’s character imagining riding on a motorcycle with him and romance, and Armisen’s character only concerned about classes getting canceled (it is funnier than it sounds).
The new season will feature many returning guests, including Kyle MacLachlan as Portland’s mayor, and Chloe Sevigny playing Fred and Carrie’s new roommate. Sevigny recently appeared on “American Horror Story” on FX.
Armisen has starred on “Saturday Night Live” on NBC since 2002. Brownstein is primarily known for her stint in the alternative rock band Sleater-Kinney. The pair developed the show, which began airing on IFC in January 2011.
