With the election finally over (thank goodness), we can finally get back to the normal TV season. No more debate pre-emptions, no more election coverage, and no more of those mind-numbing political attack ads. Whether your candidate won or lost, hopefully we can all agree to be happy that the electoral chaos is over.
Now for the ratings. NBC won the demos, while CBS (of course) had more total viewership.
The Voice dropped big from last Tuesday, but to be fair, only aired last night due to Tuesday's election coverage bumping it. The new lead-in proved beneficial to Chicago Fire however, which saw a 27% increase. The presence of The Voice also drove NBC to its first (non-sports related) Wednesday night demo win since 2008. FOX counterpart The X-Factor came in much lower, which is the usual outcome when the two shows go head to head. Simon really needs to swallow his pride and pick non-Voice nights to air his show.
On ABC, The Middle rose a small amount, while The Neighbors recovered from last weeks series low. Modern Family saw a huge rise when compared to last week's Halloween Night broadcast. Lead out Suburgatory benefited from this, rising half a ratings point. Nashville managed to break the 2.0 barrier again as well. A quite good night all around for the network. On the Eye, Survivor made decent gains. Criminal Minds went up a bit, while CSI dropped a little. As for the CW, Arrow matched its series high, and lead out Supernatural went up as a result. Arrow continues to be the network's new crown jewel.
