Hawaii is about to be visited by a “Pretty Little Liar.”
Janel Parrish, who plays Mona Vanderwaal on the ABC Family drama, will play a chemistry student planning a medical career who is upset that there could be a roadblock in her path. The episode is expected to air in the new year.
Parrish, who was actually born and raised in Oahu, Hawaii where the show films thus making it a homecoming for the starlet, has appeared in “Heroes,” “Celeste and Jesse Forever” and “Bratz.”
“Pretty Little Liars” is loosely based on Sara Shepard’s series of novels, and is a teen drama mystery-thriller. The Mona Vanderwaal character is a former nerd who idolized popular girl Alison DiLaurentis at Rosewood High School. Once DiLaurentis disappeared, she changes into the It Girl/ Queen Bee of the school.
Parrish also made her musical debut in the movie “Bratz: The Movie,” with the song “Rainy Day.”
“Hawaii Five-0” is a reimagining of the original police procedural drama that began in 1968. It stars Alex O’Loughlin, Scott Caan, Daniel Dae Kim, Grace Park, Lauren German and others.
Parrish is represented by Rough Diamond Management.
“Hawaii Five-0” is on CBS Mondays at 10 p.m.
