Jason Sudeikis, you have my permission to leave NBC's Saturday Night Live.
The comedian, who appeared on SNL broadcasts as Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, started this week's show as Romney, perhaps for the final time following Romney's big defeat at the hands of President Barack Obama in the presidential election. The cold open was set during election night, as Romney downs milk by the cartonful following his painful defeat (Romney does not drink alcohol or caffeine).
"Romney" hides this from wife Ann, as she tries to cheer him up. As soon as she heads back inside, he opens up another cold one. Tagg Romney heads out to comfort his father, telling him he wants to punch America in the face - a take on Tagg's expressed interest in punching Obama during the campaign. One by one, the Romney boys (all portrayed by Taran Killam) try to get Mitt to come inside, telling him Paul Ryan is in the drawing room doing "feats of strength."
“I’d like to see him carry Wisconsin” Romney says.
Finally Mitt comes clean to his wife Ann, telling her he has downed about 10 gallons of the hard stuff.
Farewell, "Mitt Romney." There was so much more you had to share with us. On Saturday Night Live.
