You can’t hide from “Nashville.”
The ABC freshman drama recently received a back-nine order from the network. The country music drama is from Oscar winner Callie Khouri.
“Nashville” debuted with a 2.8 rating in adults 18-49 and 8.9 million viewers, which was lower than industry expectations. The show is averaging six million total viewers and a 2.1 rating in the advertiser- desired 18-49 demographic.
The show has also been selling mp3 downloads of songs from the program, which have hit country radio and charted.
“Nashville” is produced by Lionsgate TV and ABC studios. It stars Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere as country singers at opposite ends of the spectrum; one starting to make it big, while the other is trying to hold on to her spot.
ABC has also given full-season orders to new comedy “The Neighbors” and Shonda Rhimes drama “Scandal.”
Tim Allen comedy “Last Man Standing” and Reba McEntire comedy “Malibu Country” also each received three additional scripts.
ABC will also launch “How to Live With Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life)” and “Family Tools.” “Family Tools” recently had its episode order cut from 13 to 10 episodes.
“Nashville” airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on ABC.
