Hayden Panettiere may be starring as a singer on ABC's Nashville, but the starlet is looking to branch into more- a recording artist. The first single from Nashville, "Telescope," already hit the Internet with a video, but Panettiere is working to releaes the song to radio as well. Since its release, "Telescope" rose to No. 43 on Billboard's Country Songs chart.
"It is so unbelievable and wild," Panettiere told Billboard.com. "I have gotten in the car a few times, turned on the radio, and saw my name and 'Telescope' on the receiver. It's just overwhelming that I think I just zone out. I become numb when I hear it."
Aside from releasing a single through Big Machine Records, Panettiere is projecting herself into the country music scene. One of her first steps was appearing at the Country Music Awards. At this apperance she not only mingled with other artists, but presented as well. It was the first time that she felt at home in the country world.
"It was the first time I had felt that family feeling, where I knew people, and had met them before. You realize that people don't just know each other within the industry, but they spend time with each other. They write songs with each other, they produce each other. They know each other's children and families. It's a much closer environment than anything I've been around.”
A little different attitude than that of her character Juliette Barnes. She’s a bit more of a fighter than lover.
Nashville airs Wednesdays at 10/9c on ABC.
