Billy Dee Williams as a guest star? Works every time.

Williams will play himself on the 13th episode of “Modern Family’s” fourth season, which is entitled “New Year’s Eve.” In the episode the family meets Williams over a game of cards in Palm Springs while they are vacationing for New Year’s Eve.
The Emmy-winning comedy was created by Steve Levitan and Chris Lloyd, and stars Ed O’Neill, Sofia Vergara, Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell.
Williams famously played Lando Calrissian in “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi.” He recently had guest spots on “NCIS,” “White Collar” and “Private Practice.”
Williams is represented by Talent Works and Kramer Management.
Nathan Lane will also reprise his role as Pepper Saltzman, a flamboyant friend of gay characters Mitch and Cam. This will be his third appearance on the show.
Lane has also been recurring on CBS’ “The Good Wife” lately. Lane is known for appearing in “The Birdcage,” “The Producers,” “Guys and Dolls,” and has done voice work in “The Lion King” and “Stuart Little.”
This season of “Modern Family” also sees Matthew Broderick, Shelley Long, Paul Scheer and Jason Mantzoukas making appearances.
The show airs Wednesdays on ABC at 9 p.m.
