'Jersey Shore' star discusses new MTV talk show

MTV is having difficulty cutting the cord with the cast of Jersey Shore. Who can blame them - sure, most of them are scumbags, but the series has done amazing numbers for the network. The network has already done spin-offs for DJ Pauly D, and JWoww and Snooki, but still surprised fans when it announced a new talk show with Vinny, titled The Show With Vinny.

On the series, Vinny will interview celebrities from his house in Staten Island, New York, and they will interact with his family, being treated to a home cooked meal from mama Paula and some idiotic rambling from Uncle Nino (who is no Don Vito).

“I was really, really excited, mostly because it’s something that I really want to do,” Vinny said. “I’ve always been more natural at doing hosting things: reading teleprompters, taking direction and asking questions…I’m actually able to perform a little bit.”

His Jersey Shore colleagues think Vinny will dominate the talk show scene the same way he dominates skanky Italian women in New Jersey.

“I think that’s perfect for Vinny -- he has that personality and he’s always wanted to do the hosting thing, so I’m really happy for him and hope to see him successful,” said Ronnie. “And everyone’s grown to love his family.”

Vinny's show aims for realness (L-O-L). Are you going to watch?

The newness of --the sheer absurdity as to how un-original, conformist, superficial, hedonistic, anti-intellectual, chauvinistic, dysfunctional and (et cetera, etc., etc.) ... stupefied these cast of characters are --that is long gone now. *** So, will-not-watch.
