Of all the immediate post-Office television careers, that of Mindy Kaling's seems the brightest. That does not mean there will not be any bumps along the way, however.
Her comedy series on Fox, The Mindy Project, announced today that its cast will be undergoing a minor shake-up in the early part of 2013, as regular cast member Amanda Setton is leaving the series, while Anna Camp is being promoted to a regular cast member.
Camp first appeared in the pilot as Gwen Grandy, best friend to Kaling's Mindy Lahiri, a gynecologist with some difficulty in the dating game. Camp has also appeared recently in The Help and Pitch Perfect.
Setton plays Shauna Dicanio, a receptionist. She is leaving for creative reasons after becoming a late addition to the team.
The show is also looking for an actress to play a new recurring female character that was Mindy's college friend. The role could become a regular.
It was recently announced that The Mindy Project will be getting a larger than normal 24-episode first season. That move seems to indicate that Fox thinks it has a winner on its hands. Do you agree with that? What are your thoughts on the series so far?
