Hugh Laurie to sail the seas?

I did not see every episode of House, so forgive me for asking: Did House ever make anyone walk the plank? Did he share the booty? I know he had a limp - was it possibly from a peg leg?

Hugh Laurie, who stared for eight seasons on House, M.D., is negotiating to star in a new NBC series, the action-adventure drama Crossbones. He would play Blackbeard in the 10-episode series, which is based on Colin Woodard's 'The Republic of Pirates' book.

This could be awesome, right?

The series is set in 1715 in the Bahamas. Edward Teach - aka Blackbeard - serves as the leader of a democracy of bad boys, including outlaws, nasty sailors and thieves. The island serves as a threat to international shipping and an undercover assassin, Tom Lowe, is sent to take Blackbeard down. As cinema has taught us, getting close to bad people always - ALWAYS - makes you fall in love with the lifestyle.

Neil Cross, the creator of Luther, is going to write and executive produce along with Walter Parkes and Laure MacDonald.

Laurie earned six Emmy nominations and two Golden Globes (also two SAG Awards) for his work as Gregory House.

No snark on this one. I am all in on this.

We've been waiting forever for this. I hope they don't give up before they begin.

Whoa, this, indeed, sounds like it's gonna be f--ing awesome! (and with Luther's Neil Cross overseeing, is far less likely to allow NBC-execs to force it to suck/sink.)
