Is "Killer Karaoke" the greatest show in television history?

…Not likely, but according to New York Times, it is definitely in the running for most entertaining reality show of the season. Hosted by “Jackass” star and creator Steve-O, the reality singing show brings things to a whole new wacky level. What else do you expect from a show hosted by a guy who in the past has willingly spent his free time attacking leeches to his eyes and pouring an entire beer up his own…well, we will leave that one to your imagination.

The new reality show features contestants attempting to sing in front of a live studio audience while attempts are made to disrupt their performance in a variety of tortuous, scary or embarrassing situations. The show is a variation of the British show “Sing if You Can”, but in true American fashion, it appears to be taking things a little more over the top.

In this clip a girl struggles to sing through a country song while being lowered into a tank of water and live snakes.

Now I don’t know about you, but I mostly just felt really bad for the girl instead of entertained, but to each their own! Reality television has come a long way from its origins, and today it seems to be more about shock value and extreme stunts than anything else.
