Don't expect a "Good Burger" reunion any time soon.
TV Rage had previously reported on "Saturday Night Live"'s Kenan Thompson hatching a deal with NBC to produce a new solo project on the network.
In his new pilot, Thompson will play Kenan Monroe, who trades in his life in New York City to move to suburban bliss with his in-laws, where he deals with three generations of issues. Well, don't expect his old Nickelodeon collaborator Kel Mitchell to portray one of said in-laws. Evidently the two had a parting of the ways and it sounds like it was less than amicable.
Mitchell told TMZ "“The truth is Kenan does not want to be seen with me in any form of media, or even have my name mentioned around him.”
Mitchell cites the reason for the split to be rooted in Thompson still wanting to make a name for himself solo. To his credit, the former co-star is quite understanding of the situation. “I have not been upset about this. I respect his choice of wanting to make a name for himself solo," he continued. "There is no bad blood on my side, I’m not declining a reunion, I know the fans love the show and would love to see some type of appearance with us... I just don’t see that ever happening because of how he really feels.”
