
Sad news for fans of 'Dallas', star of the revived American soap, Larry Hagman has died. His family have confirmed that he had succumbed to the complications from his cancer and had passed away on Friday 23rd of November with his close family and friends by his bed-side. Among those believed to be their at the time were co-stars Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy, both of which had also reprised their roles in the 2012 revival of the famous soap opera. In October 2011 Larry had been diagnosed with a "very common and treatable" type of cancer however he still returned to the character of JR Ewing for the TNT revival of the show. Filming had already started taking place for the second season of the show due to return in January 2013, although Larry's death may have a further impact on these episodes coming to air. Larry rose to fame as his role on 'I Dream of Jeannie' playing Tony Nelson between 1965 and 1970. The first run of 'Dallas' saw JR take part in the highest rating episode of the series in 1980 as we finally found out who shot JR. (Ewing originally played the character between 1978 and 1991)
