ABC just got itself another trophy wife.
Natalie Morales (“White Collar”) will join the comedy pilot “Trophy Wife.” Bradley Whitford and Malin Ackerman will star.
The single-camera comedy from Emily Halpern (“Private Practice”) and Sarah Haskins (“SuperNews”) will revolve around Kate (played by Ackerman), who used to be a party girl who falls in love with Brad (played by Whitford), who has three children and two ex-wives who all may not be looking out for her best interests.
Kate’s friend Meg (played by Morales) is still living the promiscuous party life and is jealous of her friend’s new family.
Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky (“The Office”) will serve as executive producers. They are also attached to “Hello Ladies,” an HBO pilot.
The show also includes Diane (played by Marcia Gay Harden), one of Brad’s ex-wives who was an Olympic swimmer and now is an orthopedic surgeon. She is the mother of the ex-couple’s fraternal twins.
Morales is represented by UTA and has also appeared on ABC Family’s “The Middleman,” “The Newsroom,” “Parks and Recreation,” and the film “Going the Distance.”
Ackerman has appeared in “Couples Retreat” and “The Heartbreak Kid.” Whitford is known from “The West Wing” and the film “Billy Madison.”
