TBS announced today a new addition to its original programming line-up - an unscripted comedy that will feature comedians pranking random, unsuspecting people.
The series, titled 'Who Gets the Last Laugh?' will star Scrubs alum and forthcoming co-star in 'Kick Ass 2,' Donald Faison as the host. The series is created by Punk'd co-creators Jason Goldberg and Ashton Kutcher and will be similar to that MTV smash hit.
Bam Margera (what?), Cheri Oteri, Andy Dick, Tom Green, D.L. Hughley and Chris Kattan have been announced as some of the comedians participating in the pranking (How does Margera fit that description?). Three of the comedians will show off their pranks, with the live audience deciding who did it the best. Whoever wins each episode gets a $10,000 check to donate to the charity of their choosing.
This concept is obviously not original by any stretch of the word, but it could work. These people are well-enough known commodities that the audience will generally know who they are. And hidden camera prank shows seem to have an evergreen quality – no matter what we do, they are never going away. Nor should they.
The series will premiere in spring of 2013.
