Taking advantage of a usually dreary month ideal for staying home and watching television, FX has revealed plans to welcome in the New Year with a slate of January premiere dates.
Kicking off earlier than the other series, the critically acclaimed neo-western drama Justified will begin its fourth season on Tuesday, January 8, at 10:00 PM. FX released the following synopsis of lawman Raylan Givens' new adventures: "Raylan will start to pick at the thread of a cold case over 30 years in the making, unraveling a riddle that echoes all the way back to his boyhood and his criminal father's bad dealings. Meanwhile, Boyd Crowder finds his grip on Harlan loosening due to a Pentecostal preacher with a penchant for theatrics and a knack for manipulation to rival his own." The upcoming season will also feature guest stars Patton Oswalt and Joe Mazzello.
Modestly rated in its first season, Charlie Sheen's Anger Management will return for a sophomore season on Thursday, January 17, with back-to-back new episodes at 9:00 and 9:30 PM. The following week, the show will settle into its usual timeslot at 9:30, preceded by a repeat episode at 9. Now that the network has granted a massive 90-episode series order to Anger Management, Charlie Sheen won't be going away anytime soon. This season, Martin Sheen will become a regular cast member as he plays the father of his son's character on the show.
January 17 will also host the Season 4 premiere of animated cult favorite Archer at 10:00 PM, followed by the debut of a new comedy at 10:30 called Legit. Starring comedian Jim Jefferies, Legit chronicles his uphill struggle as a foul-mouthed stand-up comedian from Australia living and trying to work in Los Angeles. At 11 PM, a new cycle of talk show Totally Biased With W. Kamau Bell will end the evening on FX.
