Jere Burns joins the cast of A&E's 'Bates Motel'

Who doesn't love Jere Burns?

Over the past ten years, Burns has been the hardest working man in television. He is one of the most talented character actors working today--that's why everyone recognizes his face. Shame very few of us remember his name.

See that photo? You may recognize Burns from his four episodes of 'Breaking Bad,' his nine episodes of 'Burn Notice,' or his fourteen episodes of the hit FX series 'Justified.' Those are only three of the massively-popular shows that Burns has contributed to since 2010. And we'll have plenty more Jere Burns to enjoy when the upcoming A&E drama 'Bates Motel' debuts in 2013.

'Bates Motel' is a prequel story to Alfred Hitchcock's classic film 'Psycho.' 'Motel' examines the twisted relationship between serial-killer-to-be Norman (Freddie Highmore) and his overbearing mother, Norma (Vera Varmiga). What role will the talented Burns play on the show? Producers are keeping that under wraps.

The role is completely mysterious, despite the assurance from Universal Television that Burns' character will play a pivotal role in the storyline of the series.
