To say that the audience anticipation for the third season of HBO's Game Of Thrones is reaching insane levels, would indeed be a massive understatement. The first two seasons of the series (based on author George R.R. Martin's classic series of fantasy novels) performed better than HBO could have ever anticipated, and GOT is now firmly the network's "tentpole" show. I'd wager more people have subscribed to HBO to watch "Thrones" play out than even did when The Sopranos was at its peak.
Last night, HBO premiered a new season three production featurette, both on TV and online. The piece features interviews with the cast and creators, and features our first looks at the new characters we'll all come to know very well next year. If you're a fan, don't be surprised if your excitement for March reaches a fever pitch after watching the video below:
Game Of Thrones premieres on Sunday, March 31, 2013. As if you really needed me to tell you that. Most of you probably have the date marked on your calendars already. I just thought of an interesting programming note. Based on the February 10th return date, the season finale of The Walking Dead will air on March 31st. At the same time as GOT's premiere. Holy crap. It's time for a battle of the fandoms. Whoever's show gets better ratings that night wins.
Do you need your Game Of Thrones fix so bad that you wish you could time travel to the 31st of March? Will Walking Dead's finale beat GOT's premiere in the ratings?
