Review: New Girl episode 2.10

This week’s episode of “New Girl” featured the welcome return of Carla Guigino and the very welcome debut of Olivia Munn.

Olivia Munn

After last week I thought we had seen the last of Schmidt’s boss (Guigino), but she was back, with a new project for Schmidt (Max Greenfield). Cece (Hannah Simone) broke up with her boyfriend Robby because she found out she doesn’t have much time left to conceive, and he wasn’t serious about that. Schmidt then professed his love to her. Of course, work got in the way of a potential reconciliation, though Schmidt did have a sweet sport coat with a lightning bolt on the back.

Nick meets Angie (played by Munn) at his bar. He said she reminds him of him, though I didn’t get a lot from her here. She seems very quiet and deadpan every time I see her in something.

Nick broke his rule about crossing the bar, and got in between her and her boyfriend, and he also had to separate her and a coworker at a strip club. She, however, crossed the bar the other way at the end, and will have an arc on the show.

To keep them busy, Jess (Zooey Deschanel) and Winston (Lamorne Morris) are conspiring to get a bathtub. This just felt like spinning their wheels, as I found Nick and Schmidt’s goings on a lot more interesting. BUT- their high jinx caused the return of Remy the landlord, which justified the whole thing somewhat.
