Sean Bean to star in TNT pilot “Legends”

“Game Of Thrones” actor Sean Bean has landed a role starring in the new TNT pilot “Legends”.  The series is based off of the book by novelist Robert Littell, and focuses on deep-cover operative Martin Odum (Bean), who can transform himself into different people to suit the needs of each job. He has to defend himself when a mysterious stranger threatens to unravel his secret.

The lead role was originally handed to Brendan Fraser, but Fraser exited the production in November due to what he called creative differences with executive producer Howard Gordan. "Brendan is an incredible actor, and we have wanted to work with him for a very long time," said Fox 21 president Bert Salke. "While this particular project may not have been the right fit, we are excited to develop cable properties with him that will showcase his amazing talent."

The project was originally created for NBC, but is now taken over by TNT and will be directed and produced by David Semel.

Hopefully Bean has a bit more luck with this character than he has in the past. The seasoned actor has a bit of a rap sheet when it comes to the death toll of the characters he has played in films and television series. It seems Sean Been as met his demise a total of 25 times on screen, and for your enjoyment (maybe that is the wrong word…) you can watch a death reel showcasing many of them below.
