With a lot of television series that end before their fan base thinks they should, fans dream of a movie filling in the final gaps and giving us one last farewell (or even possibly new life) with our favorite characters. Ever since NBC ended 'Friday Night Lights,' fans have dreamed that they would one day see their guys at a movie theater.
Peter Berg and Jason Katimshave, the series creator and show runner, respectively, have fed into these rumors and talked about it as a real possibility. Unfortunately, star Kyle Chandler, who starred as Coach Taylor, is not on board with this idea. In an interview he gave to MTV News, he talked down the project and appeared uninterested.
"My general attitude about Friday Night Lights is that it was a great movie with Billy Bob Thornton. And it was a great TV show," he said. "I never had more fun doing anything. … They ended it at exactly the right time and in exactly the right way."
Pretty cut and dry, right? After appearing as a book by Buzz Bissinger, the idea was turned into a movie with Thornton before being brought to the small screen for five seasons. It is not like fans have been lacking.
What do you think - is Chandler right to say no?
