A “White Collar” alum will soon join the ranks of an NBC freshman drama.

“Everwood’s” Treat Williams will recur on “Chicago Fire” as Benny, the father to Taylor Kinney’s brash Lt. Kelly Severide, who is fighting his own demons.
He will first appear on the show in January.
Williams played Dr. Andy Brown on “Everwood,” and also recently recurred on “White Collar” on USA. His film credits include “Deadfall,” “The Eagle Has Landed” and “127 Hours,” as well as the upcoming “In the Blood,” “Barefoot” and “Persecuted.”
The lovely Sarah Shahi (“Fairly Legal”) has also recently been booked to play Kelly’s love interest on the show.
“Chicago Fire” also stars Jesse Spencer (“House MD”), Monica Raymund (“The Good Wife”), Lauren German (“Hawaii Five-0”), Charlie Barnett (“Men in Black 3”) and Eamonn Walker (“The Whole Truth”).
A plane crash being filmed for “Chicago Fire” last week fooled WGN Chicago. The local news reported the filming as a real plane crash, until being informed on air that it was actually staged for the progam.
Williams is represented by APA, the Schiff Co. and also attorney George Sheanshang.
“Chicago Fire” is on NBC Wednesday nights at 10 p.m. ET.
