The cast of ABC's upcoming single-camera format comedy 'Trophy Wife' is starting to look pretty darned good.
Starring Malin Akerman as Kate, the eponymous wife, ABC recently locked down Bradley Whitford ('The West Wing') as Brad, her wealthy husband. Now, Ryan Lee ('Super 8') has been brought on board as one of Brad's three manipulative children.
'Trophy Wife' is about a reformed party-girl (Akerman) who finds herself with an insta-family when she falls in love with Brad (Whitford), a successful charmer with a quirky sense of humor who has three manipulative kids and two judgemental ex-wives. The ex-wives in question will be played by Marcia Gay Harden ('Into the Wild,' 'Damages') and Michaela Watkins, who recently had a guest appearance on 'Modern Family.'
Ryan Lee has an unbelievably impressive resume, especially considering he recently turned sixteen years old. Lee is best known as Cary from the hit feature 'Super 8,' however he is also recognizable from his guest appearance on 'Community' episode 3x21 "The First Chang Dynasty." Lee has been appearing in television since he was nine years old, making him a seven-year showbusiness veteran. 'Trophy Wife' offers Lee the sort of role that can allow him to grow up a touch in American audiences' collective minds. Also, working with a proven hand like Bradley Whitford can only assist a young actor like Lee as he inches closer to adulthood.
Lee will next be seen in Judd Apatow's upcoming feature 'This is 40.'
