ABC isn't the only network that has somehow talked celebrities into leaping off of a high-dive.
In January, FOX will debut 'Stars in Danger: The High Dive,' a two-hour special featuring eight celebrities learning Olympic-style dives, both solo and synchronized. Hosted by four-time Olympian diver Troy Dumais, 'Stars in Danger' will feature a cast of celebrities as they are trained to perform olympic dives, from beginning to performance. Considering how dangerous these athletic feats are to accomplish, you can expect some thrills and spills.
So who will be taking the leap of faith on FOX?
JWoww, of 'Jersey Shore' fame, for one. Joining the reality television starlet is Kim and Kyle Richards from 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.' Along with the reality stars, the cast includes actors Antonio Sabato Jr. and David Chokachi. From there, the cast is rounded out by athletes from non-diving sports, including professional surfer Bethany Hamilton, endurance athlete
Alexandra Paul, and none other than former NFL bad boy Terrell Owens.
FOX's special is thematically linked to ABC's rival series 'Celebrity Diving' which premieres in March. This is becoming a very peculiar and esoteric sub-genre of reality competition.
'Stars in Danger: The High Dive' airs Wednesday, January 9 2013 at 8:00PM ET.
