Actress Leslie Mann has found the key to sustained success in the comedy industry: marry a director and have him cast you (and your kids) in all his films.
Mann appeared on NBC's 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno' Friday night and talked about her relationship with director Judd Apatow while promoting their new film, the semi-sequel to "Knocked Up" called "This Is 40." Mann is the lead actress in the film, which also stars Paul Rudd (as well as Apatow and Mann's children Maude and Iris).
During the interview, Mann pulled back the curtain on the Apatow clan's family life, including a video tour of Mann receiving medical treatment the day before her appearance, including getting her blood drawn. She talked about taking steroids to counter her illness, before moving on to a discussion about Apatow's phlegm flow. Gross.
Clips from her appearance can be seen here - a warning, though. The clips contain an obscene amount of the obnoxious Jay Leno.
I don't have anything against Mann as an actress - I am a little tired of Apatow's films and the constant forcing of his family down everyone's throat, though. A look at her IMDB page reveals that she works, but not all that consistently, if you don't include her films with Apatow.
