AMC developing Colonial comedy 'We Hate Paul Revere'

Deadline.com is exclusively reporting that AMC has begun development on the network's first ever half-hour scripted comedy series, entitled 'We Hate Paul Revere.'

Set in Colonial Boston, 'We Hate Paul Revere' is written and Exec Produced by actors Adrian Wenner ('My Boys,' 'Whitney') and Ethan Sandler ('Crossing Jordan'), both with prior writing and producing credits. 'We Hate Paul Revere' centers on two brothers living in Colonial Boston who are not fans of local industrialist and activist Paul Revere. Riveting.

Wenner and Sandler have been writing and producing together since they met in their College days at Northwestern University. The play they produced together, 'Epitaph,' won awards at the HBO Comedy Festival.

AMC has really been flexing some muscle with all of their 'The Walking Dead' dollars as of late. Having built itself on scripted drama, the network has integrated some unscripted series into their slate and are now branching out into scripted comedy. Time will tell if 'We Hate Paul Revere' will make the splash they're hoping for.
