Do you like Tyler Perry? What about The Oprah Winfrey Network? If you answered yes to both of those questions, then this is your lucky day.
Two new series are coming to OWN from Perry out of the overall deal he signed with Oprah's baby two months ago. Perry will be writing, directing and executive producing both series - one a comedy, one a drama. Both series, which will launch in mid-2013, are being developed by his Tyler Perry Studios.
The drama is called 'The Haves and the Have Nots' and deals with the upper-class Cyrer family, as well as the low-income family of their housekeeper Hanna. The series will focus of the struggles both families deal with.
The comedy is 'Love Thy Neighbor,' which will be set at Love's Diner and deal with the zany patrons who walk through its doors.
Details about both series are still being worked out, including episode orders and addtional members of the staff, including writers and additional producers.
Perry's previous TV programs were developed at TBS and included 'House of Payne,' 'Meet the Browns,' and 'For Better or Worse.'
Discovery Communications CEO David Zaslav spoke earlier this month at the UBS Global Media and Communications Conference in London and expressed hope that the network (OWN) would see a great increase in fortunes in 2013, in part because of Perry.
"The cherry on top is we got Tyler Perry," said Zaslav.
