The fifth and final season of FOX's sci-fi series Fringe is slowly reaching its end. Only four episodes remain in the compelling sci-fi series, which in January will see the (presumed) defeat of the evil Observers, who have taken over the earth in the future and have turned it into a dystopia. At the end of last week's episode, "Black Blotter," our heroes recovered 'Michael,' an Observer child who is apparently the key to defeating the bald bad guys. The endgame, then, is approaching.
A new poster for the final four episodes of the season has been released, and it's rather dramatic. It shows a bloodied Captain Windmark (the chief Observer antagonist thus far, played by Michael Kopsa) grimacing off into the distance, with the caption "The Final Battle." Windmark's background appears to be a portal of some sort -- rather reminiscent of Doctor Who's time vortex.
It's a simple, yet dramatic poster that brings with it a weight of finality. I'd like to see similar posters with our heroes as the focal point, as well. An image of a bloodied Walter or Olivia would have even more of an impact.
What do you think of the poster? Are you ready for the final four episodes of Fringe?
Friday's episode, the annoyingly titled "Anomaly XB-6783746," in which "the team call on Nina Sharp to help devise a plan to defeat the Observers, but time is running out in their quest to save the world." After a break for the holidays, Fringe will return for its final three episodes on January 11.
