CBS has announced the premiere date for 'The Job,' a new workplace series from Michael Davies and Mark Burnett. The program will debut on February 8 at 8 p.m., in the time slot currently held by 'Undercover Boss,' which will return with new episodes in April.
The program, which was announced by CBS at their May upfront meeting, features candidates being given the chance to win positions at some of America's most prestigious companies - companies that are currently unannounced. Each episode will feature five contestants competing head-to-head against each other over several rounds of eliminations in from of a panel of executives who will decide their fates. Reality TV is not my bag, but this could be interesting.
Representatives from three "guest" companies in related industries will also be on hand to make on-the-spot offers to one of the candidates, who then has to decide to accept the offer or continue trying for the job they are competing for. Unless they have their heart set on the first job, you would almost always take that offer, right? I mean, oe good job beats zero jobs, am I right?
The series will be hosted by 'The View's' Lisa Ling and is being produced by Davies' Embassy Row and Sony Pictures Television.
What do you think? Will you give 'The Job' a look?
