Last night MTV bid farewell to arguably the biggest stars it has ever made - the cast of the 'Jersey Shore.' Think about it for a minute and you will realize it is hard to argue that point. No one else has become such pop culture icons and found celebrity outside of the show, bar maybe 'Beavis and Butthead.'
Now that Jersey Shore is no more, the network is looking for its next home run. Two shows show hope - 'Buckwild' and 'Washington Heights.'
While 'Buckwild' looks like a cross between 'Jersey Shore,' 'Jackass' and 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,' 'Washington Heights' seems to be going for a more urban, realistic, gritty feel. A preview video has been released showing a little bit of what the show will bring to viewers and can be seen here.
The show will focus on nine "best" friends from the neighborhood in New York City as they try to fulfill their dreams and live their lives the way they best see fit. The trailer shows the struggles the cast goes through, such as paying rent, having little money, trying to catch their big break and trying to land work, while not giving up on their dreams.
What do you think?
The show debuts on MTV January 9 at 10 p.m. with two back-to-back episodes.
