Singing competitions sure do go through judges fast. Can you name all of the people that have served a term as a judge on the American version of “X Factor”? To help you out, there have been seven in total.
Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole, Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger, Britney Spears, Demi Lovato AND L.A. Reid have all leant their talents to competitors as mentors. After the conclusion of the second season of “X Factor” (in which contestant Tate Stevens won) one of the original judges, L.A. Reid, has decided to make his exit. Now, producers of the show and Simon Cowell have the task, yet again, of replacing a judge on their panel. Reid explained that the reason he is leaving the show is to focus more on his company and other responsibilities he has been neglecting. "I have a company to run that I've kind of neglected. I have a huge responsibility to a roster of artists and it’s kind of time for me to stop doing the ‘me’ show."
With this in mind, Reid, Cowell and host Mario Lopez shared who they think would make the best replacement judge on the singing show.
L.A. Reid: "I think Rihanna should fill my spot so I'll have a reason to watch." (…wait, so does this mean he doesn’t think there is any other reason to watch the show on its own? Ouch.)
Mario Lopez: "I love Demi and Britney, but if they want to add a female as opposed to getting a man, I've been campaigning for my girl Fergie from The Black Eyed Peas. I think she'd be awesome. We've been friends a long time and she's so talented and I think she'd be an awesome judge/mentor. She's cool and hip and I think the kids would really respond to her and like her."
Simon Cowell: "I'm firing them all. I'm going to be the only judge next year. I'll just mentor the whole lot."
Of course, Cowell had to have the last cheeky word.
Who would you pick to fill L.A. Reid’s spot?
