FOX's 'New Years Eve Live!' lost the performance by Phillip Phillips but gained a host: Marlon Wayans.
Wayans, best known for his roles in the 'Scary Movie' film series and 2000's 'Requiem for a Dream,' will be promoting his upcoming feature 'A Haunted House' which is set to be released in January. Wayans will host the 90-minute FOX broadcast from Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. 'New Years Eve Live!' will feature musical performances from the band Lifehouse and from Tate Stevens, the winner of this season's 'X-Factor.'
By winning 'The X-Factor' this season, Stevens earned a $5million recording contract with Epic Records. He is a Country Music artist, versatile in a variety of instruments--not merely a singer like some contestants.
Marlon Wayans, now forty years old, is a member of the Wayans family who have each earned names for themselves in show business. Predominantly known for comedy, Marlon's brothers Damon, Dwayne, Keenen Ivory and Shawn each have multiple credits to their name. Marlon and Shawn Wayans, former co-stars on the sitcom 'Wayans Bros.,' will be performing at The Orleans Showroom in Vegas on Dec. 29 and Dec. 30.
