Poor, poor Anderson Cooper.
First his daytime talk show, 'Anderson Live,' meets the chopping block. And now CNN has announced that he will be teaming up with Kathy Griffin for the sixth year-in-a-row to host CNN's New Year's Eve coverage. I am not sure who he angered at the network, but pity poor Anderson.
The team will be broadcasting live from Manhattan's Time Square in New York City on December 31 from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. for the 'New Year's Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin' program. Well, at least his name goes first on the marquee.
They will be joined by correspondent Isha Sesay, who will be covering festivities from the ground in Times Square. John Zarella will be joining them from Key West, Florida, while Gary Tuchman reports from Eastport, Maine.
At 12:30 a.m., the coverage switches to CNN's Brooke Baldwin in Jackson Square in New Orleans, while HLN's Susan Hendricks covers the festivities in Nashville as the Central Time Zone rings in 2013.
Before heading to Anderson and Kathy, CNN will air a "best and worst of 2012" Anderson Cooper 360 special at 8 p.m.
What do you think? Will CNN be your network of choice this New Year's Eve?
Okay, allow me to weigh in here. First off, I personally am not at all a fan of Kathy Griffin. That said, I really don't see what Josh said that Nicole found so offensive here. So he took a few jabs at Kathy Griffin? So what? I can point you to a thousand much worse things said about her on any other given website on the internet. The remarks Josh made were quite benign IMO. The idea that we should be "ashamed" of ourselves is pretty ridiculous.
And on another note, I'll never understand why some people seem to get upset every single time one of our writers expresses an opinion they disagree with. We are far, far from the only TV site that mixes a slight editorial slant in with their news pieces. I don't recall this site ever making a solemn pledge to be completely unbiased on everything ever. We aren't the USA Today.
