I would be willing to bet you a lot of women hate Jenna Dewan-Tatum. Who? Focus on the last name, TVRage reader. Dewan-Tatum is Mrs. Channing Tatum and the couple recently announced that they were pregnant.
And while that is great news, Dewan-Tatum has something more pressing in her immediate future: a Lifetime TV-movie called 'She Made Them Do It,' which premieres this Saturday at 8 p.m.
In the film, Dewan-Tatum plays Sarah Pender, a convicted felon who finds herself in the middle of a double-murder mystery involving her roommates at college.
"It's dark, intense and emotional," says Dewan-Tatum, who has appeared on 'American Horror Story: Asylum.' Pender has denied her guilt throughout the ordeal, which was intriguing to Dewan-Tatum. "I thought of her as somebody who really believed her own lie — if it is a lie.
"Once of the beautiful things about this story is that no one really knows what's true or not true," she added. "She's a manipulative character with a survivor mentality. She's naturally very charismatic and knows how to work people without them knowing it."
Pender ends up having an affair with a prison guard and is helped by Jamie Long (Mackenzie Phillips), a former inmate who helps her escape custody.
The chance to star in the film was a dream come true for Dewan-Tatum.
"I grew up watching Lifetime movies with my mother almost every day," she said. "They're guilty pleasures!"
