The ever-expanding cast of ABC's fairytale drama 'Once Upon a Time' has gotten one bigger, it was announced on Monday. 'Walking Dead' actress Sonequa Martin-Green has nabbed a role on the series in the role of Tamara. It's a role that, according to TVLine, could last through the rest of the second season and into the third.
No word yet on who Tamara actually is, though previous casting rumors indicated that an African-American actress with a British accent was initially sought for the part.
Martin-Green is a relatively unknown actress, whose biggest role came in the most recent episode of AMC's The Walking Dead, when she was introduced as Sasha, one of the new characters who entered the prison. A little hotheaded, she protested when Carl locked the group in a cell, but relented at her brother, Tyreese's (Chad Coleman) word.
No word yet on whether or not there will be any schedule interference with filming for The Walking Dead and Once Upon a Time, but either way, this casting provides even less reason to get attached to Sasha -- she's likely walker bait on AMC's zombie drama.
The Walking Dead will return February 10 for the second half of its third season. Once Upon a Time will return on January 6 with its midseason premiere episode, "The Cricket Game."
