It looks like wacky Nurse Beverly, played by Beth Grant, on “The Mindy Project” may be getting her job back…and for good! It was confirmed yesterday by TVLine that the cranky and recently fired Nurse Beverly will be reappearing (although we do not know when yet) as a series regular in the future on the Fox sitcom.
Beverly was introduced and subsequently fired in the second episode of the season, “Hiring and Firing”, for offenses which involved stealing vials of blood and punching her boss, Dr. L, in the face. Bringing her character back as a series regular of course does not guarantee that she will be getting her nursing job back, but she will be thrown back into the mix in a way which will hopefully be as entertaining as her previous appearance.

This permanent cast addition comes in the wake of a number of casting changes and departures for “The Mindy Project”, which continues to be a work in progress. Supporting characters Amanda Setton and Stephen Tobolowsky have already departed the show and Mindy’s on-screen best friend Anna Camp has been downgraded from a series regular to simply a recurring character. In addition to Beth Grant’s return to the show, Mary Grill was recently added as a new friend for Mindy.
Beth Grant is known best for her roles in movies which include everything from “Rain Man” to “No Country for Old Men” and “Donnie Darko”, all of which are very serious dramas in comparison to her “Mindy Project” appearance.
Are you looking forward to the return of Nurse Beverly? What do you think of all the recent casting changes?
