FOX's hit sitcom 'Raising Hope' is paying homage to a parenting comedy that came before: an upcoming episode is going to feature Mike O'Malley and Liza Snyder who played Jimmy and Christine for six seasons of 'Yes, Dear.'
O'Malley, who more recently has played Burt on 'Glee,' will reunite with his television-wife Snyder (who has only worked sparingly since 'Yes, Dear' ended in 2006) to once again play a married couple. In the 'Raising Hope' episode that features the pair, the guest stars find an old sex tape that features Burt (Garret Dillahunt) and Virgina (Martha Plimpton). Presumably, hilarity will ensue from that point onward.
Greg Garcia, executive producer on 'Raising Hope,' is also a co-creator of 'Yes, Dear' back in 2000. "As one of the world's biggest 'Yes, Dear' fans," Garcia stated, "I am very excited about this reunion. I can’t wait to work with Mike and Liza again. Two incredibly funny people who turn my tin cans into gold every time."

'Yes, Dear' was a sitcom about two young couples and their mismatched approaches to parenting their young children. 'Raising Hope,' somewhat following in its footsteps, is about a clueless twenty-five year old man who is raising his daughter with the help of his eccentric but well-meaning family.
'Raising Hope' returns on January 8 on FOX with an episode that features Christopher Lloyd ('Back to the Future').
