Hi everybody. Welcome back. The holiday season is behind us, and that means TV's winter break is coming to an end. Several shows came back last night, so I figured I'd choose today to climb back on the old ratings report horse.
Speaking of which, NBC won in all measures last night, although that was mostly due to them being one of only two networks with a full night of original programming.
Whitney returned to its highest numbers in almost a year. Of course, the real test will be next week, when it has to contend with bigger competition. Guys With Kids also posted big gains, and Law & Order: SVU matched its highest rating since late 2011. Chicago Fire hit a series high as well. Enjoy this dominance while it lasts NBC, because Modern Family comes back next Wednesday.
FOX aired Mobbed's first new episodes since last February, with both hours down over 60% from last time. Granted, Mobbed had the almighty American Idol as its lead-in back then. ABC, CBS, and the CW all packed the night with re-runs. Amusingly, a re-run of The Middle actually outdrew Whitney at 8pm.
